BUILT FOR CONTINUED USE

What Can Be Serviced?

Luggage is exposed to repeated movement, impacts, changing surfaces and constant handling. Over time, individual components may wear — even when the rest of the suitcase remains fully functional.

Openwater’s modular Energy-Tec® architecture makes selected components accessible for maintenance, service and replacement, helping the complete suitcase remain in use for longer.

HANDLES & TROLLEY SYSTEM

Restore Stability and Control.

Carry handles and trolley components can be assessed individually if movement, stability or function changes over time.

LOCKS & CLOSURE COMPONENTS

Maintain Secure Closure.

Locks, pullers and selected closure components can be inspected and serviced without automatically replacing the complete suitcase.

WHEELS

Keep It Moving Smoothly.

Wheels experience constant contact with airport floors, streets and uneven surfaces. Selected wheel components can be serviced or replaced if they become worn or damaged.

FLOW SCENE® INTERIOR

Refresh or Replace the Inside.

The removable interior can be cleaned, replaced or exchanged separately from the suitcase shell.

How Repair Works

Send us your order number, suitcase model and a short description of the problem.

Include clear photographs or a short video showing the affected area and the complete suitcase.

Our support team identifies the component and determines whether service, repair, replacement or warranty assessment is appropriate.

We provide the relevant instructions, component or next service step.

Look After the Parts That Keep You Moving.

Regular care helps wheels, zippers, handles and interiors continue to perform consistently throughout repeated journeys.

  • Empty every compartment and the wet pocket
  • Remove and refresh the Flow Scene® interior
  • Wipe the suitcase shell with a soft damp cloth
  • Allow the suitcase to dry before storage

Remove visible hair, threads, grit and other debris from around the wheel housings. Check that every wheel rotates freely.

Open and close the zipper around the complete suitcase. Never force the zipper around an overpacked or obstructed section.

Extend and retract the trolley system fully. Store the suitcase with the handle closed and avoid lifting the case by the extended trolley tubes.

Store the suitcase clean, dry and away from prolonged heat, direct sunlight or excessive pressure.

CARE FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Flow Scene® Care

Flow Scene® interiors are designed to be removed from the suitcase shell. This makes it possible to clean the packing system separately, access the inside of the shell and replace the interior when required.

Always follow the care label supplied with the specific interior.

1. Remove After Travel

Detach the interior from the suitcase shell when it is time to unpack.

2. Refresh When Needed

Air or clean selected components separately between journeys.

3. Reinstall or Replace

Put it back when ready — or replace individual modules over time.

FAQ

Below are some common questions about repairs and warranty

Can I replace an Openwater wheel?

All wheel components are designed for service and replacement. Contact support with your suitcase model, size and photographs so we can identify the correct component and service method.

Can I perform the repair myself?

We have designed all components for easy access and repair. Some service procedures may be completed with supplied instructions, while others may require professional assistance if you are not handy with a screwdriver.

Are replacement parts covered by the warranty?

Parts required to resolve an approved defect may be covered under the warranty. Normal wear, accidental damage and external damage are assessed separately according to the warranty terms.

What should I do if an airline damages my suitcase?

Report the damage to the airline before leaving the airport and obtain written confirmation. Then contact Openwater if you need help identifying the damaged component or available repair options.

Can the interior be replaced?

Yes. Flow Scene® interiors are removable and can be replaced with a compatible interior designed for the same suitcase model and size.

Do you repair every Openwater suitcase?

We strive to repair as much as possible as a part our work for sustainability. Service depends on the suitcase model, component, condition and availability of compatible parts. Our support team assesses every request individually.
